With a truly tailored approach, we take into consideration intrinsic and extrinsic factors impacting the health of each client; their personal health and history, lifestyle, other commitments, demands and stressors, and whether they have only limited time to dedicate to their health, or cost containment is a priority. We can help all levels of experience or lack thereof, and can focus on specific health concerns like reversing diabetes, or desires for biohacking, such as sleep efficiency - increasing the quality of sleep while minimizing the time spent sleeping -and of course, taking a broad, holistic approach to each client's life. At OptiMYze Health, we are always learning ways to improve our approach by following the ever expanding new scientific and medical discoveries, therapies and biohacks. We help clients to establish a strong personalized wellness foundation on which they can continue to build upon over a lifetime, applying new optimization strategies. In the process of working with us, they will have the opportunity to learn ways to improve their self talk and belief systems, exercise/physical activity and healthy eating plans, self care, biohacking, goal setting and goal attainment.

Empowering patients to achieve optimal brain health. As a clinician and researcher, I leverage the most up-to-date methods to provide individualized patient-centric plans leveraging nutrition and biohacking approaches.
Dr. Katherine Phillips, DC, DACNB, started her healthcare career coaching a visually impaired cyclist for USA Paralympic Cycling. A relentless pursuit of excellence on and off the athletic field drove her to find nontraditional coaching methods considering the athlete's stroke history. On September 11, 2011, the athlete was involved in a life-threatening crash while competing in a world championship. This resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Dr. Phillips coordinated care for the athlete’s rehabilitation and consulted with professionals from the neuroscience community in Tucson, AZ. A passion for helping patients to achieve optimal brain health was planted.
Following the 2012 Olympic cycle, Dr. Phillips enrolled in chiropractic school and pursued an American Chiropractic Neurology Board Diplomate. In 2014 she was invited to accompany her husband, CPT Allan Phillips, a physical therapy intern at the time, to Naval Hospital San Diego for a day. The experience left a strong impression; she knew she was destined to care for our nation’s injured service members.
Dr. Phillips made her dream a reality. At Naval Air Station North Island, she saw over 4,000 patients. A disconnect between research and the clinical setting was noted, especially for patients diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries. She has focused her efforts on bridging this gap by enrolling in a clinical neuroscience master’s degree program. Her degree will be used to leverage the most up-to-date methods to provide individualized patient-centric treatment plans and further TBI research in the military.
Coinciding with her involvement in competitive running, Dr. Hartenstine's interest in nutrition, physiology and biohacking began decades ago, during her secondary schooling with her desire to understand how the human body works, how what we eat impacts our athletic performance and all aspects of our health and wellness.
She was able to follow her passion for human health in college and post graduate school, studying biology, physiology, nutrition and health related sciences at Johns Hopkins University and The Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she was prepared to further her education in osteopathic medicine at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After further advanced training in Pathology, anatomic and clinical laboratory sciences, she has expertise in identifying disease processes in the body, and a thorough understanding of the physiology and processes that lead to disease.
Dr. Hartenstine spends most of her time with continuing education in health sciences and wellness related topics - a field of knowledge that is continually and rapidly expanding. Her scientific background lends a unique advantage both in helping clients truly understand how choices impact their health and provides the scientific foundation needed to critically analyze new data, and understand if and how it can be used in practical applications further optimizing human health and wellness.
Dr. Hartenstine's areas of interest include: immune health; personalized nutrition for active lifestyles, preventive and restorative health and mood; microbiome based wellness; women's wellness and biohacking. Her expertise includes supplementation for optimized wellness, active lifestyles, carb cycling, low-carb and keto lifestyles, intermittent and healing fasting for men and women of all ages who wish to improve their wellness, physical and mental performance or who are dealing with various conditions including but not limited to: metabolic conditions (obesity, diabetes); sleep and energy challenges; digestive issues; and hormonal imbalances (perimenopause and menopause).
